Nothing much new here. The freckles are disappearing due to being at the top of one group and absent in the other; the cheek patches are turning from blue to orange. The only thing worth noting is that I also made the orange check patches shrink down to tiny circles underneath the endpoints of the mouth. This enables them to be removed altogether in the next transition to a yellow face. If they had been left big, they would have had to have a yellow counterpart in the next frame.

Also note that in the conehead, the eyes are filled shapes and the mouth is a stroke, even though they both look like strokes. Whether or not you outline strokes depends on what kind of shape you want to blend them to.
