Doll (at larger size) |
This paper doll page is dedicated to my mother, Ann Pettit, who could have been a model for the doll at the left, she looked so much like that back in the 50's. Born Annabelle Lee Grisso in 1935, she was only 18 when she married my dad, Medford Pettit, in 1953. It boggles my mind to think that my mom was already a mother to four children when she was 24. My love of paper dolls has its roots in the happy times I spent as a child playing paper dolls with her. I had very few "store bought" paper dolls as a child; almost all of them were hand-made by my mother, or later by myself. One of my very early memories is of laying down on a piece of brown paper unfolded from a grocery bag, while my mother traced around me. She then colored it, and created a life size paper doll, and made clothes for it. I was probably about three at the time. As of 2010, Mom and Dad are still married after over 56 years, and I'm still playing with paper dolls! Happy Mother's Day, Mom!! |
The card is provided in two sizes: with two sides together so that you can fold your own card, and with each page separately at letter size. Clicking on the images above will open a new window, for the larger size of the front page and the doll. The clothing pages (in both sizes) and the smaller version of the doll are on the next two web pages. |
