Double Spread: Outside No Face Inside Pages Single Pages: Doll Front Front No Face Back |
Hallmark #25D 51 "This is Nancy Lee", by Vivian Smith This doll is number 1 in the "This is ..." series of Hallmark paper doll cards, first published in 1949 under the Hall Brothers copyright, and rereleased in 1954 under the Hallmark Cards copyright, as a follow on to the collectible standup doll cards. Unlike the later paper doll cards, each of these first four is signed Viv on the hem of one of the dresses. All four were also multiple occasion, that is, the text mentions no holiday, birthday or other event. Each card came with the doll tucked inside the card, with its head slipped through the perforations on the front. I've made two versions of the front page - one with the face showing through and one without it, so that you can construct your own card to emulate the original format. The card is also provided here in two sizes: with two sides together at greeting card size, and with each page separately at letter size. Click on the images above to open the size for the double-page spread; click on the text links to open the full-size single pages. (You will probably need to zoom in to view the images at full resolution.) The doll for the double page spreads is provided with 2 dolls on one sheet of paper. This is done for convenience in printing, so that the page image for the doll will be landscape orientation and the same dimensions as the costume pages. That way you don't have to worry about making sure the scales match. The image with just one doll is formatted to fit the letter-size single-page costume pages. |
