Notes for John Bailey Clark
Scrap written by Lila Petitt Chadwell about 1975 says "Graney father mother Matha Riddle Graney father father Bail Clark" ('graney' = granny is Emma Jane Clark Petitt.)

I have not been able to find where John B. Clark was buried.
Census
1860 Census of Rowan Co., KY, (June 10) lists this family on p. 9, #62:
John B. Clark, 25, farmer, VA; Martha, 20, KY; Sarah, 10/12, KY.

See Notes for Martha Riddle's second husband John A. Black for 1870 and 1880 census record of John B. Clark's children.
Notes for Martha Ann Riddle
Jesse Petitt bible record1 gives 14 Aug 1839 for the birthdates of Martha Riddle and Mary Susan Riddle.

Double stone in Black-Trent cemetery on Trent Ridge says "John A Black 1831 - : Martha A Ridle Black 1840 - " (The death dates were never filled in.)
Census
1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, records with the family of Willie Black:
Martha Black, mother, widow, b. Aug 40, age 59.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Hoggtown precinct, enumerated 22 April, records on p. 6B as family #99:
Brown, Andrew, 69; Martha, 70; married 3 years, third marriage for both, Martha mother of 7 children, 4 living; Black, Sarah B., granddaughter, 14; Adkins, Roscoe, servant, 14.

Sarah B. Black is the daughter of Willie Black and Letha Conn, so she is really a step-granddaughter to Andrew Brown, but the enumerator left off "step" a lot. Thus, Martha must be Martha Ann Riddle, Willie's mother, since Sarah's other grandmother, Letha's mother, was named Angeline. The age and number of childen are right, of whom 4 - Leander, Mary, Willie, and Martha Ann - were living in 1910. The marriage was probably in Elliott Co., because there is no marriage record for Andrew Brown in Rowan Co. in 1906-1908. (It would be the fourth marriage for Martha, but she probably didn't count the one to William Day that only lasted a week.)

I could not find a death certificate for a Martha Brown of the right age. Andrew Brown reportedly died in Indiana; perhaps Martha did too? Either that or she died before death recording began in 1911.
Notes for John Bailey & Martha Ann (Family)
Rowan Co. court records on LDS microfilm #216839 list marriage on 1 Nov 1857 of John B. Clark, 23, b. Tazwell, Va., to Marty Day, 18, widow, b. Fleming Co.
