Notes for Elizabeth Gardner
The birthdate may be off by a year.

Her gravestone gives her birthdate as 10 Dec 1839, but that of her sister Tabitha has hers as 18 Feb 1839. Since the 1850 census shows Elizabeth as 11, and Tabitha as 10, Elizabeth must be the older of the two. The birthdates therefore can’t both be correct. (Even if the age order were swapped in 1850, it would be extremely tight birth spacing to have two children born 10 months apart.) Assuming the months are correct, it also would not work out for Elizabeth to be born in Dec 1838 and Tabitha in Feb 1839. The year numbers would have to be two years apart to get enough separation. It could be that Elizabeth was born in Dec 1838 and Tabitha in Feb 1840, or that Elizabeth was born in Dec 1837 and Tabitha in Feb 1839. The former is more consistent with their ages in the 1850 census, as well as with Tabitha’s reported age in 1860 and 1880, so it is the interpretation I am using.
