Morton & Co., p. 93, "William Pettit was a native of Fayette Co., Ky, a son of Harry Pettit and his wife Juliet Greenville Atchison... The children of Harry Pettit and his wife, Juliet G. Atchison, were: Sarah, who married Daniel Boone Bryan; Mary, who married George Headley of Lexington, Ky; William, who married first, Miss Jennie Carr, and after her death married Annette Van Meter; Nathaniel, who died in the Southern Army, a soldier, in the hospital; Florence Rebecca, who married J. F. Scott."

Will of Harry Pettit, dated 12 Aug 1873, probated 13 June 1874, mentions "my wife Juliet G. Pettit; all my children" (not named)

Fayette Co. birth and death records list Harry Pettit as the owner of an unnamed slave born April 1855, and a slave named Lucion (male) who died at age 6 mo. on 2 Jan 1859.

Harry Pettit, 1 m < 5, 1 m 30-39, 1 f < 5, 2 f 20-29. (The boy under 5 may have died before 1840, as there is no boy over 9 in the 1840 census reading. But he might have been living with a relative. The other woman over 20 may be Harry's sister Rebecca.)
