Her obituary in the Morehead News of 3 Jan 1992 reads: "Mrs. George Ann Barker McBaryer, 59, of Hillcrest Avenue, died of cancer Jan 1 at her home.
Born May 17, 1932 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of Clayton and Georgia Ramey Barker.
Mrs. McBrayer was an ordained minister. She taught private piano and voice and was the minister of music at the Morehead First Church of God for over 33 years.
On Dec. 21, 1952 she married Jack Lane McBrayer, of Morehead, who survives along with her parents, who reside in Ashland. Other survivors include one son, Brian Lane McBrayer of Georgetown; two daughters, Melisa Ann Pratt of St. Louis, Mo., and Leslie Dawn Wells of Morehead; four sisters, Rosemary Davis, Kathy Sagraves and JoEtta Lynch, all of Ashland, and Joan Dixon of Anderson, Ind. Also two grandchildren, Gaige Pratt and Benjamin McBrayer survive."
