Notes for William Henry Dehart
Elliott Co. Ky birth records list William H. Dehart, born 27 Feb 1874, father James W. Dehart, mother’s maiden name Rebecca J. Gillum.

His WWI draft registration card, issued in 1917/1918 (the images on Ancestry do not show the side of the card that has the date it was filed), says William Henry Dehart, age 44, residence Crix, Rowan Co, Ky, born 27 Jan 1884, occupation laborer, employer Charleston W & E Co., Charleston, W Va, nearest relative Leeotis Dehart, Clayton, Elliott Co., Ky. (His oldest son, who was at the time only 14 or 15.)

Index to Kentucky Death Records lists William H. Dehart, d. 30 Dec 1968, age 94, in Rowan Co., residence same, certificate Vol. 66, #32844. (This would imply a birthdate in 1874, which is consistent with the 1880 census, but not the 1900 one.)

The certificate says he died in Morehead at Daniel Boone Nursing Home. Surviving spouse--Mary Ellen Riddle. Parents--Jimmie Dehart and Rebecca Gilliam. Informant Mrs. Andy Smedley, Clearfield. Cause of death Pneumonia and Dehydration duration 1 week, Carcinoma of Prostate-8 years. Contributing factors ASHD and congestive heart failure. Buried Crix Cem.

Social Security Death index lists W. Dehart, born 27 Feb 1874, died Dec 1968, SSN 296-20-8165 issued in Ohio, last residence in Clearfield, KY.
Notes for Sarah Ellen Clark
Her death certificate states Ellen Dehart, age 33 years 2 months 26 days, born 27 April 1883 in Ky, died 22 July 1916 in Crix, Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Wm Dehart, mother’s maiden name Susie Dehart, cause of death typhoid fever.

The informant field is blank, but was most likely her husband. He has, however, reported Ellen’s stepfather as her father, and her mother’s married name as her maiden name.
Notes for William Henry & Sarah Ellen (Family)
Rowan Co. Marriage Record Bk 3 lists marriage of Sarah E. Clark & Wm H. Dehart on Jan 11, 1900 at the residence of "Wm P. Dehart, groom's father." (The marriage record is incorrect in identifying Wm P. Dehart as the groom's father - he is only so described in the "married at" line. They were really married at Wm. P. Dehart's because it was the _bride's_ home, but it would be natural for a clerk to assume that W.P. was the groom's father's, since it was he and not she who was a Dehart.)
Census
1900 census of Rowan Co., KY, Hoggtown prec. 4, enumerated 12 June, lists on p. 9A as family #149:
William Deheart, 24, b. Jan 1876; Sarah E., 17, b. 1883 (no month); no children, married within the year. (The date of birth for William is not consistent with his death record, which has 27 Feb 1874, nor with the 1880 census, which has him age 6. But the 1900 census of Rowan Co. seems to be pure fiction on a great many birthdates.3)
