Some family trees on Ancestry.com link him as a son of Marcus/Mark C. Ferrand and Lucretia of Bath Co., Ky, but that is unlikely, since the 1850 census lists in the household of Mark and Lucretia a presumed son Thomas F. Ferrand, age 6. They would not have named another son Thomas when the first was still living. It is possible that the younger Thomas was a grandson instead of a son, but it is more likely that this Thomas has different parents.
My money would be on Henry Ferrand who married Matilda Lancaster on 24 Jan 1822 in Bath Co.
