Gary D. Lewis gave her given names to me as “Lesia Deloris Jean”, but her obituary, reprinted below, referred to her as “Leisa Leanna”.
Printed in the Morehead News, it ran “Leisa Leanna Brown Hardin, 46, of 385 Jones Ridge, Clearfield, died Wednesday, March 13, at her residence. She was born June 6, 1949 in Rowan County to Lela Pearl Wallace Brown of Clearfield and the late Lastie Brown. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teressa Lyn Hardin and a brother, Charles Brown. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Maverick Brown of Round Rock, Texas, Richard Samuel Hardin of Clearfield and Christopher Hardin of Wallingford; two brothers, Kenneth Brown of Clearfield, Carl Brown of Clearfield; two sisters, Lottie Brown of Clearfield, Ola Brown of Morehead. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Lonnie Gregory officiating with burial at the Clearfield Cemetery.”
Since there is no mention of a husband, either as a survivor or as having predeceased her, most likely her marriage to Richard Hardin ended in divorce.
