Notes for Fred M. Caudill
There were two Fred M. Caudills born in 1905 who are buried in Rowan County. One was born 26 Feb 1905, died 18 May 1977, and is buried in Brown Cemetery with the inscription “Pvt US Army WWII”. The other was born 14 Nov 1905, died 7 Dec 1985, and is buried in Lee Cemetery under a double stone with his wife’s name inscribed as Christene McKinney Caudill. Her date of death is blank, so most likely she was still living at the time the cemetery was surveyed.

The Kentucky Death Index lists Fred M. Caudill, age 72, died 18 May 1977, in Fayette Co., residence Rowan Co., certificate Vol. 27, #13347.
Notes for Gladys L. Caudill
In 1949 she was listed in her father’s obituary as Mrs. Estill Lambert of Sophia, West Virginia. Gladys and Estill are buried together in Morehead, but I do not know whether they returned there to live.
Notes for Fred M. & Gladys L. (Family)
Rowan Co. marriage book 20, p. 76, records marriage of Fred Caudill, 21, s/o James and Jeall Caudill, to Gladys Caudill, 17, d/o Jesse and Lulie Caudill, at residence of bride's father, by W. F. Lambert, witnesses M. C. Moore and Estill Lambert.

I neglected to make a note on the date, but p. 57 of the same book was 11 Feb 26, so it was probably in the latter half of Feb, or perhaps the first half of March. (I am not certain that this is the same Fred Caudill who was the son of James A. Caudill and Jean Mocabee, but I have no record of any James Caudill who had a wife with a name similar to Jeall.)
