Breathitt Co., Ky birth records list the birth on 15 July 1854 of Stephen Brewer, father Thos Brewer, mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Pelfry.
(Be careful not to confuse him with Stephen Brewer born 9 Dec 1858 in Breathitt Co., son of Lewis Brewer and Nancy McDaniels. They were both in Wolfe Co. by 1870.)
His death certificate records Stephen M. Brewer, age 83 years 2 months 26 days, born 13 July 1843 in Campton, Ky, died 29 July 1926 in Middletown, Butler Co., Ohio, residence 610 Malvern Ave., married, husband of Jennie Brewer, father Thos. Brewer, born in N. Carolina, mother’s maiden name unknown, cause of death mitral insufficiency, informant Jennie Brewer, same address, burial in Slade, Ky.

Notes for Genora “Jennie” Risner
Be careful not to confuse her with Genoa/Gena Risner born Oct 1882 in Magoffin Co., Ky, daughter of William Risner and Linda Medley. That Gena Risner married W. R. Dyer, and died in Fayette Co., Ky in 1913.
I cannot find this one in the 1900 census, searching all Risner/Resner families in Kentucky. Most likely she had already married her first husband, and since I do not know his name, and the spelling of hers varied so much, and her birthdate could be anywhere from 1882 to 1885, it would be too difficult to discriminate her from all the young brides of similar name and birthdate.
I cannot find this one in the 1900 census, searching all Risner/Resner families in Kentucky. Bruer, S. M. 55, second marriage, married 3 years, 15 children, 8 living; Gernia, wife, 28, second marriage, married 3 years, 4 children, 3 living; George, son, 17; Floid, son, 7; Stevie, son, 5; Lillie M., dau, 2; Sarah, dau, 4/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
Considering the fact that Genie is listed as the mother of 3 living children but this marriage began only 3 years prior, Stevie may be a stepson who took on the name of his stepfather, rather than a son of Stephen.
1920 census of Morgan Co., Ky, Panthers Branch precinct, enumerated 27 Jan, lists on p. 12A as family #222/227:
