His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Charley Foster Jr., age 33, residence Craney, Rowan Co., Ky, born 2 Jan 1886, occupation timbering, employer U. G. Blair, nearest relative Mary Foster.

(The Jr. is not to distinguish him from a father, but from the Charles Foster born 1883, a first cousin.)

A brief death notice in the Muncie newspaper reported “Funeral services for Charles Foster, 59, who died Friday at the home of his son, Chester, South Gharkey street, after any extended illness, will be conducted at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at Parson mortuary, the Rev. R.O. Bayer in charge. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.”
