Census Notes for Samuel Staton
1830 census of Bath Co., Ky, p. 219, line 1, lists
Samuel Staton, 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-9, 1 male 10-14, 1 male 40-49, 1 female 5-9, 1 female 10-14, and 1 female 20-29.

Since Samuel Staton and Drusilla Sadler married in 1825, this obviously represents a second marriage for at least Samuel and possibly Drusilla as well, since 4 of the children were born before 1825. (If it was taken after July 15, it may be counting his third wife, Polly McCollough. The official rule was that the counts were supposed to represent the household members on June 1 of the census year, but that was often not followed strictly.)
Notes for Drusilla [Pettit ?] Sadler
Probably the same person as Drusilla Pettit, daughter of Matthew Pettit. But I have no solid proof.

The evidence is only circumstantial, including the facts that:

(1) Matthew Pettit provided surety for the marriage bond;
(2) Drusilla is not a common name and Matthew Pettit had a daughter Drusilla born ca 1806 (listed as age 14 on his 1820 pension application), which is consistent with the age of Samuel’s wife from the 1830 census;
(3) the distribution of children in the 1830 census makes it clear that this was a second marriage for at least Samuel and thus possibly Drusilla as well (i.e., there were children born before 1825);
(4) Samuel Staton’s daughter Christina (from his first marriage) later married Matthew’s son Andrew; and
(5) a George Sadler provided surety in 1828 for the marriage of Samuel Pettit and Nancy Sharp, indicating the likelihood of some relationship between the Sadler and Pettit families.

I think it is likely that a son of George Sadler married Drusilla Pettit sometime around 1822, and died by 1825, and she then married Samuel Staton.
Notes for Samuel & Drusilla (Family)
In 1825, Matthew Pettit provided surety on the marriage bond for Samuel Staton and Drusilla Sadler, as follows:

"Know all men by these presents that we Samuel Staton and Matthew Pettit are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of L50 current money which payment well and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth we bind ourselves and our heirs etc jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed and dated this 19th day of Nov 1825 the condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had & solemnized between the above bound Samuel Staton & Drusilla Sadler Now should there be no lawful cause to obstruct said intended marriage then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
