John P. Alderman says in his annotations to the 1850 census "Jacob Huff was the son of Peter and Mary (Gallimore) Huff. His father died before he was grown and he married in 1843, Sarah Jennings (1823-1894) dau of Thomas and Sarah (Clifton) Jennings."
