Thomas Pettit of Washington Co. lists in his 1834 will a son William H. Pettit. There is no William Pettit in the 1830 census of Washington Co., nor any William H. Pettit anywhere. There are 3 William Pettits in Jefferson Co., one in Union Co., and a William N. Pettit in Franklin Co. If the "H" is really an "N", then Thomas's son may be the latter.
