Notes for Estill Slone
His WW II draft registration card, filed 27 Apr 1942, records Estell Sloan, age 47, born 14 May 1895 in Morgan Co., Ky, residence Man, Logan Co., W.Va, nearest relative Hannah Sloan, Man, W.Va.

The SSDI lists Estill Slone, born 14 May 1895, died June 1972, last residence Mount Gay, Logan Co., West Virginia.

The Michigan death index lists Estill Slone, born 14 May 1896, died 8 July 1972 in Warren, Macomb Co., Michigan, residence same.

Do not confuse him with Estill Slone born 19 May 1900 in Knott Co., son of Spencer Slone and Nancy McKing.
Notes for Isabell Petitt
The story that Lila and Ola tell was that Hettie was pregnant with Isabell when Jesse and Hettie married in April 1897, which would put her being born in late 1897 or very early 1898. Her marriage record is also consistent with a birthdate between Oct 1897 and Sep 1898.

But the 1900 and 1910 censuses (for Mary Conn household) are consistent in saying she was born in early 1899, as is her death certificate (vol. 6, #02544), which states Isebell Slone, age 16 years 16 days, born 13 Jan 1899, died 29 Jan 1915 in Hogtown precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Jesse Petitt born Rowan Co., mother’s maiden name Het Conn, born Ky, cause of death eclampsia, burial in Conn Cemetery.
Notes for Estill & Isabell (Family)
Rowan Co. marriage book 8, p. 0 (i.e., an unnumbered page before the one numbered 1), records marriage on 3 Oct 1912 of Estill Sloan, 16, s/o M. V. & Hannah Sloan, to Isabelle Petitt, 14, d/o Jessie & Hettie Petitt, at the residence of Mary Conn, by J. H. Kegley, witnesses John E. Johnson & Chas Kegley. (I wonder which Charles Kegley this is: the one b. ca 1880 who married Hettie Conn, and was thus Isabelle's stepfather, or the one born ca 1890 who married Rena Trent and Malinda Adkins, and who was the son of the minister performing the wedding.)
