His obituary in the Zanesville (Ohio) Times Recorder of Wed., 20 Dec 1961, reported “Andrew Craig, 91, of Shawnee died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount St. Mary Hospital, Nelsonville, where he had been a patient nine days. A retired coal miner, he had been ill five months.

He was born Jan. 15, 1870, in Jackson County, the son of Thomas and Anna Compson Craig. His wife died several years ago.

Surviving are two sons, William of Shawnee, with whom he resided, and James E. of New Straitsville; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Spencer and Mrs. Flossie Maye Gohring, both of near Malta; 13 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.”

Nora Jack is probably related to John Jack who married Martha’s twin sister Mary.

1920 census of Perry Co., Ohio, Salt Lick township, Shawnee village, enumerated 30 Jan, lists on p. 7B as family #138/149:
Craig, Andy, 48, coal miner; Martha, wife, 48; William, son, 19; Edward, son, 17; Flossie M., dau, 12. All are listed as born Ohio Ohio Ohio, although it is wrong for Martha.

1930 census of Perry Co., Ohio, Salt Lick township, Shawnee village, enumerated 15 April, lists on p. 9B as family #234/239:
Craig, Andrew, 55, widowed, coal miner; William, son, 28, coal miner; Gohring, William, 6, grandson; Woods, Fay E., granddaughter, 14; Walter A., grandson, 12; Gohring, Flossie, dau, 21, age at first marriage 19; Charles, son-in-law, 25, age at first marriage 23; Donald D., grandson, 1 9/12; Clyde E., grandson, 0/12.

All are listed as born Ohio Ohio Ohio. The Woods grandchildren were apparently just visiting; their parents John Woods and Mary Craig were both still living in 1930.
