Pettit, father Tom M. Lillard born in Virginia, mother’s maiden name Mallissie Waller, born in Kentucky, cause of death septicemia from infected foot, informant R. D. Pettit, Williamstown, Ky, burial in Napolean, Ky.
Census
I cannot find her in the 1860 or 1870 censuses under any name variation, nor can I find her parents in 1860. I would like to cross check her age, since her death certificate said 1859 but the 1900 census said 1861.

1930 census of Kenton Co., Ky, Covington, enumerated April 5, lists on p. 7B at 3823 Church St., as family #144/181:
Pettit, Meck L., head, 70, married, age at first marriage 30, no occupation; Noel, May M., sister, 69, widowed, no occupation. Both born Ky Ky Ky.

Apparently Jerry and Meck separated sometime between 1910 and 1920, and rather than divorcing, Jerry called himself widowed, and Meck continued to call herself married.
