The birthdate is probably off by one year, since he did not appear in the 1880 census.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 9, p. 123, records the marriage on 17 July 1915 of Richmond Royse, age 34, born in Rowan Co., son of William & George Ann Royse, to Effie Morrison, age 34, daughter of Harrison & Mary Morrison, both divorced, both residents of Fleming Co., Ky.
