Notes for Herman Hobart “Happy” Clark
According to Nola Caudill Treadway (daughter of Lillie Cornett and Frank Caudill, and thus a first cousin of Herman and Paris), Herman Clark married Ida Darlington from Kincaid, Fayette Co., WV, and they moved to Victoria, Virginia.

Page 292 of a book called World War II Young American Patriots, 1941-1945, West Virginia (very similar in format to a school yearbook) shows a picture of Herman in a navy uniform with the caption “Clark, Herman H. C.P.O., U. S. Navy. Born Feb. 21, 1904. Entered service April 19, 1943, Camp Peary, Va.,; Hawaii. Attended Kincaid schools. Christian church. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Clark, Oak Hill, W. Va. Husband of Mrs. Ida Darlington Clark, Kincaid, W. Va.”

Social Security Death Index lists Herman Clark, born 21 Feb 1904, died Apr 1974, last residence Victoria, Virginia, SSN 719-14-3595.
Notes for Ida Darlington
Possibly the Ida Clark listed in the SSDI as born 26 Aug 1905, died 14 May 2007 in Carrollton, Isle of Wight, Virginia, although if so, it would mean that her birthdate was incorrect in the Social Security database, since she was listed in the censuses as age 6 in 1910, 16 in 1920, and 27 in 1930. Most likely it was a different Ida Clark who died in 2007; it is a fairly common name.
