His WW I draft registration card, filed 10 Sep 1918, records George Henry Cassity, age 43, residence Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, born 15 Jan 1875, occupation carpenter, employer C and O Ry Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, nearest relative Mollie Cassity, wife, same address.

Kentucky death index lists George Cassity, died 22 Mar 1960 in Rowan Co., residence same, age 85, certificate volume 14, #06879.

His obituary in the Rowan County News of March 24, 1960, stated “Funeral services for George Cassity, 85, will be conducted this Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at Lane Funeral Home with burial at the Coffey Cemetery. Mr. Cassity, a native Rowan Countian, died Tuesday [March 22, 1960] after a lingering illness. Son of the late Pete and Mahala (Hall) Cassity, he was born near Morehead Jan 15, 1875. In 1895 he married Mollie Bowman, who passed away last year. There are four surviving children, Matt Cassity, Lawrenceburg, Ind.; Mrs. John Cassity, Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. George Tolliver and Mrs. Rosa Caudill, Morehead. He also leaves the following four brothers and five sisters: Matt Cassity, Morehead, Clifford Cassity, Clearfield, Noah Cassity and Orlander Cassity, Shelby, O., Mrs. Grace Gilkison, Bluestone, Mrs. James Mitchell, Shelby, O., Mrs. Hallie [Crater?] and Mrs. Stanley Nickell, Portsmouth, O., and Mrs. Bob [Lorchart ?], Grand Rapids, Michigan. There are 48 (?) grandchildren and 47 (?) great-grandchildren. Mr. Cassity was a member of the Church of God. Reverends John Conley and Ted [Creech? Crouch?] will officiate at the funeral.”

Notes for Mary Alice “Mollie” Bowman
Her gravestone has the birthdate 1 Sep 1872, but she is listed as age 6 in the 1880 census, with an older sister Nora listed as age 8, so she was probably really born in 1873.
