His obituary reported “Kenneth Lee DeHart, age 74, of Elliottville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born March 26, 1932, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Chester and Lyda Matthews DeHart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Glenn DeHart; one infant son, Garrell Ray DeHart; three brothers, Jimmy DeHart, Versal DeHart, Vencil DeHart; three sisters, Luwanda Merle Sloan, Amanda Jane Sloan, and Linda Faye Sloan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ileen Sloan DeHart, whom he married December 30, 1950; one daughter Brenda DeHart of Elliottville, Kentucky; three brothers, Cledith DeHart and Cleo DeHart of Morehead, Kentucky, and Glennis DeHart of Shattuck, Oklahoma; one sister, Lois Whitt of Springfield, Ohio; and two special nephews, Jesse Burton and Brandon Sloan. Mr. DeHart was farmer and former construction worker.”
