Notes for John Wesley Day
The Kentucky death index lists John W. Day, age 89, died 25 May 1954 in Boyd Co., residence same.
Notes for Cordelia Hall
Her death certificate records Cordelia Day, age 77 years 10 months 7 days, born 23 June 1866 in Menifee Co., Ky, died 30 Apr 1944 in Ashland, Boyd Co., Ky, residence 3225 Weis St., length of stay in community 26 years, married, wife of John W. Day, age 79, father John Hall, mother’s maiden name Mandy Donahue, cause of death valvular heart disease, chronic nephritis, hypertension, informant Mrs. Cora Jarvis, Ashland, Ky, burial in Ashland Cemetery.

The birthdate may be off by a year; census records are somewhat more consistent with 1865, although 1866 would also work if the family was rounding up by a few weeks in 1870 and 1880.
Census Notes for John Wesley & Cordelia (Family)
1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearce precinct, lists as family #63:
Day, John W., 37, b. May 1863, married 15 years; Cordelia, wife, 35, b. July 1864, mother of 5 children, 3 living; James W., son, 10, b. Jan 1890; John N., son, 9, b. Feb 1891; David H., son, 5, b. Sept 1894; Hall, Laban, boarder, 17, b. May 1883. All born Ky Ky Ky.

(The birthdate for Cordelia is probably wrong. She was listed as 4 in 1870 and 14 in 1880, and she had a younger sister Sarah born 21 Feb 1864. Her death record says 23 June 1866.)

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 22 April, lists on p. 6A as family #100/102:
Day, John W., 47, lumber loader; Pardelia, wife, 46, first marriage for both, married 25 years, mother of 8 children, 6 living; William, son, 21, laborer at lumber mill; John, son, 17, laborer at lumber mill; David H., son, 14; Everett, son, 9; Cora M., dau, 6; Frank, son, 2. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1920 census of Boyd Co., Ky, Ashland ward 5, enumerated 15 Jan, lists on p. 29A as family #462/686, at 627 Bath Ave:
Day, John W., 53, laborer; Cordellia, 52, wife; John (N. ?), son, 30, laborer; Belvah (Beluah?), wife, 23; Mervil, son, 2; Evert, son, 18; Cora, dau, 16; Frank, son, 12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The relationship for Belvah should be recorded as daughter-in-law, and that of Mervil as grandson. (Either that, or the three of them should be given their own family number and moved to the end, with John listed as head.) The middle initial for John looks to me like a V. Ancestry.com has transcribed it as L. But judging by his draft cards, it is apparently really an N with the rightmost stroke being so short and starting so high that it looks like a serif.

1930 census of Boyd Co., Ky, Ashland ward 4, enumerated 8 April, lists on p. 12B as family #266/278, at 3032 Shute St:
Day, John W., 64, age at first marriage 20, no occupation; Cordelia, wife, 63, age at first marriage 19; Frank, son, 21, single, roller at leather tannery. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Their son Everett is living at the same street address, but he has his own household and family number.
