His obituary in the Rowan County News of March 17, 1960 stated “Funeral services for John M. Caudill, 76, were conducted Feb. 28 [1960] at Batavia, O. Mr. Caudill, son of the late Henry B. and Christeen Caudill, was born Feb. 18, 1884, in Rowan County. He spent most of his adult life as a farmer in Clermont County, O. He married Nancy Butcher and they became the parents of three surviving children: Mrs. Virginia Turner, El Reno, Okla.; Arlie Caudill, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Bernard Caudill, Williamsburg, O. Mr. Caudill was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.”
