Notes for Ollie Caudill
Her obituary in the Morehead News reads: “Ollie Caudill Black, 89, of Rice Road, Morehead, died Saturday, Sept. 2 at Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown after a long illness. She was born May 11, 1911 in Letcher County to the late Henry and Rachel Eldridge Caudill. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and canning. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are three sons, Verlan Black and his wife Carolyn of Morehead, John Black Jr. and his wife Dean and Jim Black and his wife Sue, all of Georgetown, one son-in-law, Ben Lowe of Morehead, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Black who died July 21, 1985, one daughter Hazel Lowe who died March 26, 1995, four brothers, John D. Caudill, Benton Caudill, Willis Caudill, Dennis Caudill and three sisters, Ora Branham, Julia Butler, and Katie Kissick. Funeral services were set for Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. David Starcher officiating and burial at Brown Cemetery.”
