Census Notes for William T. McDaniel
In the 1850 census he and the children of his first marriage are listed with his parents.

1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, lists as family #224:
William McDaniel, 40, farmer; Anna, 39; Perselle, 16; Elizabeth, 14; Ellen M., 7; James W., 6; William H., 21; William J. Adkins, 17, laborer; Nancy J., 15. Anna born in Va, all others in Ky.

1870 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Martinsburg precinct, lists as family #73:
William McDaniel, 52, farmer; Anna, 48; Madory (f), 18; Carline, 15; William, 12; Cordilda, 9; Abigail, 4; Martha, 2. All born in Kentucky.
Notes for Anna Wilbourn
Her marriage record to William lists her as “Mrs. Annie Adkins”.

For several years I had Wiliam McDaniel's wife entered as Anna Fannin who married Levi Adkins, because that was the only marriage of an Adkins groom to a bride named Anna or Annie in the 1840's on David May's transcription of Morgan County marriage records. But a more thorough search of the 1850 and 1860 Morgan Co censuses and vital statistic records reveal that Levi Adkins was still living in 1860 (and 1870) married to his second wife Pricey Ann Fultz, and that the children of Levi and his first wife Anna Fannin (who had apparently died by 1849) do not match the Adkins stepchildren living with William and Anna in 1860. Comparison of Morgan Co marriage records with death records, however, reveals that David May's transcription of the marriage records mistakenly lists Anny Wilbourn who married Owen Adkins as "Amy".
Census
1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, lists as family #706:
Anna Adkins, 26; Jasper, 6; Nancy, 5; Mary, 2. The place of birth column for Anna says Virginia, and there are dittos in that column for all the children, but they were probably really born in Kentucky.

Mary matches the age for Mary Adkins who died in 1854 at age 6, dau of Owen and Anna Adkins, and there is no Owen & Anna/Amy/Annie family in the 1850 census of Morgan Co., nor any births recorded for children of Owen and Anna in the 1850’s. (There is, however, a family of Owen Adkins age 27 with wife Fanny age 2 and daughter Mary age 1. I don’t know whether this is the same Owen Adkins who married Anna or a different one, but it is probably a different one; see Owen’s notes for further discussion.) And the ages for Jasper 6 and Nancy 5 match those for William J. Adkins age 17 and Nancy J. Adkins age 15 with the family of William & Anna McDaniel in 1860. So it is almost certain that the Anna Adkins in this census household was previously married to Owen Adkins, and that she is the Mrs. Annie Adkins who married William McDaniel in October 1850.
