Notes for Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Conn
His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Benjamin F. Conn, age 37, born 21 Dec 1880, residence Cranston, Rowan Co., Ky, occupation manufacturing, employer Haldeman Brick, nearest relatives Luther & Homer Conn, Cranston, Ky.

Luther and Homer must be his sons, who were only age 6 and 3 at the time.

His death certificate records Frank Conn, age 56 years 9 months 14 days, born 21 Dec 1881 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 5 Aug 1938 in Haldeman, Rowan Co., Ky, married, husband of Martha Conn, occupation kiln fireman for Ky Fire Brick Co., father Lewis Conn, mother’s maiden name Mary Reeves, both born in Ky, cause of death killed by eastbound C & O freight train about 2:45 a.m to 4 a.m contributory cause drunk when last seen, informant Martha Conn, Eadston, Ky, burial in Hayes Cemetery.

There is no stone for him (or any other Conn) in the Hayes (also known as Hayes Crossing) Cemetery, but there are almost 100 graves with no inscribed stone.
Notes for Mecie McGlothlin
Her death certificate records Mecie McGlothlin, age 20 years 7 days, born 24 March 1897 in Ky, died 28 Mar 1917 in Brushy precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Oliver McGlothlin, mother’s maiden name Mary Hdin, both born in Ky, cause of death tuburculosus, informant Frank Conn, Cronsten, Ky, burial in Caudill Gyard.

Her gravestone as surveyed by the Rowan County Historical Society says “Conn, Megie wife of Frank”, with the above dates. Since inscriptions on gravestones are nearly always uppercase, I wonder if MECIE was misread as MEGIE.
Notes for Benjamin Franklin “Frank” & Mecie (Family)
Rowan Co. marriage book 7, p. 506, records the marriage on 21 Dec 1911 of Frank Conn, 29, laborer, born Rowan Co., parents Louis and Mary Conn, both born in Rowan Co., to Mecie McGlothlin, age 15, born Rowan Co., parents Oliver and Mollie McGlothlin, at Oliver McGlothlin's by John Kelley, witness W. D. Kelly, surety George W. McGlothlin.
Census
Frank and Mecie do not appear together in any census, since they married after the 1910 census was taken, and she died before 1920. Their sons Luther and Homer were raised by Mecie’s parents; see their census notes.
