The Kentucky death index lists Mary C. Cox, age 92, died 21 Jan 1983 iin Rowan Co., residence same. (I am not entering a middle initial C for her, because it does not appear in any other records, and may just stand for her maiden name Conn.)

Elliott Co., Ky annuel report of marriages for 1910 lists the marriage on Nov 28 of Edward Cox, age 21, residence Stark, Ky farmer, born in and both parents born in Elliott Co, to MaryConn, age 19, residence Elliott Co., father born in Elliott Co., mother born in Carter Co., place of marriage Carter Co.

This marriage is indexed by Ancestry.com as taking place in 1910, but it is very likely to be 1909 instead. For one thing, the 1910 census, taken in April, lists them as already being married. For another thing, this report actually contains marriages from Sep 1909 through 1910. Most of the marriages have no year recorded, but there are several marriages on the same page explicitly marked as 1909. (Including one for a different Ed Cox, age 22, to Mary Johnson on 25 Nov 1909. There is also a different Edward Cox, age 20 to Mary Ferguson on 7 March 1910. Since this makes three Edward Cox’s born within 2 years of each other all married to wives named Mary in Elliott Co. in within 4 months of each other, great care must be taken to avoid confusing the three families.)
