The Virginia death index lists Emily Quesinberry, age 42, born in North Carolina, died 19 Dec 1894 in Carroll Co., married, wife of Floyd Quesinberry, father T. J. Alexander. (The index is incorrect about the latter’s relationship; T. J. Alexander was her mother, not her father.)

Her gravestone gives her date of birth as 28 Oct 1853, but she was recorded as age 9 in the 1860 census, with a brother Joshua age 7, so she was probably really born earlier than that.

1880 census of Carroll Co., Virginia, Pine Creek district, enumerated 19 June, lists on p. 31 as family #276/285:
Quesnberry, Floyd, 30, farming; Emily S., 26, wife; Laura A., 9, dau; Mallie J., 7, dau; Elizabeth, 4, dau; Lucy B., 2, dau. All listed as born Va Va Va, although that is inconsistent with other records giving Emily’s birth place as North Carolina. Alexander, T. J., 55, mother-in-law, b. NC NC NC.

The younger children of this marriage were recorded in 1900 with Floyd and his second wife Susan Browder.
