1850 census of Carroll Co., Virginia lists as family #305:
John W. Maybry, 55, farmer; Nancy, 48; Andrew J., 17; Huldah, 15; Leah, 13; John F., 11. All born in Virginia.
In 1860 he is listed in Morgan Co., Ky, with the family of his son Levi, as age 60, although he should be 65.
1880 census of Carroll Co., Virginia, Piper Gap district, p. 216, lists John as age 85, a pauper in the county poorhouse run by James and Sally Chappell at household #497. There are 23 residents besides the superintendent’s family, but John is the only Mabry.
