Notes for Jeremiah Sexton
The fact that he is listed two lines after Benjamin Sr. in the 1820 Bath Co. census, together with the fact that all other Sextons other than Benjamin Sr. in Bath Co. at that time were Benjamin Sr.’s children, strongly suggests that Jeremiah is Benjamin’s son as well. But I have never seen him listed in anyone else’s family group for Benjamin & Comfort.

He may have died before 1830, because he is not listed in the 1830 census for either Bath or Morgan Co. That would be one possible explanation of his being omitted from most family groupings for Benjamin Sr., if those family groups were partially based on probate records or deeds from heirs.

Another possibility is that he is really the same person as Benjamin’s son Obediah, who would have been about 40 in 1820, yet whom is not listed in the 1820 census of Bath Co.
Census
1820 census of Bath Co., Ky, p. 206, line 22, lists:
Jeremiah Sexton, 2 m < 10, 2 m 10-15, 1 m 26-44; 1 f 10-15, 1 f 26-44.
To have 3 children 10-15 but none over suggests that his first child was born about 1805-1806, making a birthdate between 1779 and 1787 most likely.
