Notes for Paul J. Reynolds
The Kentucky birth index lists John P. Reynolds, born 21 Aug 1921 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Anna Caudill, certificate Vol. 97, #48442. It also lists Parrl Reynolds (presumably a mistranscription), same date, place and mother, certificate Vol. 97, #48467. Neither is a delayed birth certificate; they were both filed in 1921. According to his daughter Anne, his name is Paul J. Reynolds with no middle name, just the initial J, so Jim and Anna must have changed their minds about what to name him just a few days after he was born.

His obituary on FindaGrave.com reports:

“Paul J. was the son of James S. Reynolds and Anna (Caudill) Clay Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Mable (Carr) Reynolds. She died on February 24, 2004. Paul J. was a lifelong member and honorary elder of the First Christian Church, where he and Mable were baptized together in 1937. He was a graduate of Morehead High School and Morehead State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. During World War II, he served as 1st. Lt.., 95th. Bomb Group, 412th Squadron, 8th. Air Force. Paul completed 35 missons over Germany as Bombardier/Navigator, and was honored for excellence in service with Air Medals, five Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross.”
