Her obituary in the Morehead News of March 26, 1999 read “Gwendolyn Perry Kidd, 74, of West Sun Street, died Monday, March 22, [1999] at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead. She was born June 1, 1924 at Rowan County to the late Dorsie Ray and Inez Jones Perry. She was the former owner of Kidd's Bargain Store and owned and managed apartment rentals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kidd Jr. in 1965. Surviving are two sons, William J. Kidd and David M. Kidd, both of Morehead; two daughters, Barbara Raye Keeton of Morehead and Deborah June Ramey of Salt Lick; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were set for Wednesday, March 24 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Steven Carney and the Rev. David Starcher officiating and burial at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Robert Keeton, Dwayne Ruth, Shane Ramey, Johnny Broughton, Mark Caudill, Jackie Plank, John Northcutt and Coy Conn.”
