His obituary in the Morehead News of Jan. 1, 1993 reported “Lonnie Lewis Kidd, 64, of Blairs Mill, died Sunday, Dec. 20 at St. Claire. He was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Elliott County to the late Marion and Mary Jennings Kidd. A farmer, he was the husband of Mabel Bowling Kidd. Surviving with his widow are three sons, Noah David Kidd of Elliott County, Robert Kidd of Blairs Mill and Lonnie Dewayne Kidd of Blairs Mill; three daughters, Joyce Ann Kelsey, Norma Jean Salmons and Christy Lynn Kidd, all of Blairs Mill; two brothers, Henry Kidd of Detroit, Mich. and Russell Kidd of Blairs Mill; one sister, Rosa Kidd of Blairs Mill; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Carter and the Rev. Cledith Dehart officiating. Burial followed at the Kidd Cemetery at Blairs Mill. Pallbearers were Michael Kelsey, Ronnie Kelsey, James Bowling, Anthony Bowling, Ledale Salmons and Stacy Howard.”
