Notes for Charles Foster
Information that Charles who married Nancy Emma Ferrand was the son of Milt Foster and Ellen Jones is from email correspondence with their great-granddaughter Jackie Pottle. I have not found Charles in the 1900 census yet (he should be about 17.)

His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Charley Foster Sr., age 35, residence Clearfield, Ky, born 19 Feb 1883, occupation farming, self-employed, nearest relative Emma Foster.

(The Sr. is not to distinguish him from a son, but from the Charles Foster born 1886, a first cousin.)

His gravestone next to Nancy Emma’s has the birth year 1883, but no death year. It was apparently installed when Nancy was buried, and the inscription never finished.
Notes for Nancy Emma Ferrand
She was listed as Emmily age 17 in the 1900 census, as Emma age 19 on her 1904 marriage record, and as Nancy E. 1883-1947 on her gravestone.

Her death certificate states Nancy E. Foster, age 64 years 2 months 14 days, born 17 Sep 1883 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 30 Nov 1947 in rural McKenzie precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of Charlie Foster age 64, father Buddy Forran, mother’s maiden name Fearline Stamper, both born in Ky, cause of death generalized carcinomation, informant Chas Foster, Morehead, Ky RR 3, burial in Hall Cemetery.
Notes for Charles & Nancy Emma (Family)
Rowan Co. marriage book 5, p. 71, records the marriage of Charles Foster, 21, farmer, residence Morehead, born Rowan Co., to Emma Faren, 19, residence Morehead, born and both parents born in Rowan Co., at George W. Grigory’s by Press Lamaster, witnesses J. B. Jones and James W. Grigory.

Charles and Emma were first cousins once removed. Charles’ mother Emily Ellen Jones was a sister of Emma’s father’s mother, Lucinda E. Jones who married William J. Ferrand.
