The Kentucky birth index lists Olive Perkins, born 24 Apr 1915 in Breathitt Co. (a numerical coding error11), mother’s maiden name Versie Riddle.

Her obituary in the Montgomery County Bulletin reported

“Olive Perkins Skaggs, age 94, of Iroquois Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling.

She was born April 24, 1915, in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clarence E. and Versie Riddle Perkins. Her husband, William Skaggs, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Skaggs is survived by two sons, Gerald D. Skaggs and William M. (Billy) Skaggs Jr., both of Jeffersonville, Ky; three daughters, Barbara A. Lykins of Franklin, Ohio, Shirley M. Parks of Frenchburg, Kentucky, and Juanita J. Packett of Salt Lick, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Other survivors include five brothers, Millard Perkins and Cleo Perkins, of Springfield, Ohio, Raymond Perkins of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Herbert Perkins of Louisville, Kentucky, and Wilburn Perkins of Benton, Arkansas, and one sister, Gracie Perkins of New Jersey.

She was a homemaker and member of the Lucky Stop Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God Church with Gerald Skaggs, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead.
