Notes for Milton Ramey
Attribution as a son of Harrison Ramey Sr. is primarily based on combining the 1880 census reading, in which Milton is listed with the John Ramey family, no relationship given, and the 1900 one, in which John’s son William Ramey is listed with Milton, with the relationship given as nephew.

However, no son named Milton appears with the Harrison Ramey family in 1850, 1860 or 1870. One possibility is that he is the same person as either their son Alfred or their son Page, who I do not find elsewhere as adults.

Milton is listed as 20 in Oct 1858 on his first marriage record (implying a birthdate around 1838), as 38 in 1880 (implying a birthdate around 1842), and as 57 with a birthdate listed as June 1843 in 1900.
Census
1880 census of Rowan Co. Pearce precinct, p. 21, enumerated 1 June, lists as household #165/184:
Ramey, Milton, 38, farm laborer, divorced; Ramey, John, 30, farmer, married; Elizabeth, wife, 26; George A., son, 9; William A., son, 7; Magnolia, dau, 5; Mary L., dau, 2.

John is the son of Harrison Ramey Sr. The preceding household is that of Harrison Ramey Jr. with wife Rebecca.

No relationship is given for either Milton or John, as if they were both head of households, but the dwelling/family numbers are only on the line for Milton. Technically I believe the family number should have been bumped for John but not the dwelling number. Either that or he should have been listed as head-of-household and Milton listed below with a relationship.
Notes for Milton & Emily (Family)
The annual report of marriages to the Kentucky state auditor for 1858 records the marriage on 20 Oct 1858 of Milton Ramey, 20, b. Morgan Co., to Emily Cogswell, 24, b. Fleming Co.

In the 1880 census Milton’s marital status is given as divorced. I have not located him in 1860 or 1870, so I do not know when the divorce occurred.
