The Kentucky Birth Index lists Mary A. McVey, born 23 June 1917 in Bath Co., mother’s maiden name Mary Roger. There is, however, no daughter named Mary listed in the 1920 census. There is instead a daughter Edna F., listed as age 2. Note that a child born in June 1917 would be 2 years and 8 months in Feb 1920.

It is possible that Mary A. died young, and that Edna was born around April or May 1918, making her about 1 year and 9 or 10 months at the time of the census, and her birth was not registered. But it seems most likely that these are the same person, and that at some point after the birth registration, her parents decided to use the name Edna instead. I should check the death index.
