Her obituary reported “Mrs. Mary Cloie Smedley McClurg, 93, Morehead, widow of the late Emmitt McClurg, passed away Saturday, Sept 18, 2004, at her home after an illness of several weeks. She and her husband had owned and operated the Farmers Feed Mill and Supply. Survivors include two sons, Rev. Winston McClurg and his wife Jerri, Wendell McClurg and his wife Sue both of Morehead, three daughters, Leola Francis Madill and her husband Jack of Tavares, FL, Lorena Arnett and her husband Junior, and Polly Roberts and her husband Jackie of Morehead.”
