Notes for William & Mary (Family)
I’m including census notes for this family mainly for the benefit of descendents of their granddaughter Ida Mae Maxwell who married William A. Jones.
Census
1850 census of Garrard Co., Kentucky, division 2, enumerated 6 Sep, lists on p. 275 as family #110/115:
Will Crutcher, 31, farmer; Mary, 35; George W., 12; Owen E., 12; Green E., 7; Indiania, 4; Nancy J., 3; John W., 2.

Although this family is listed as Crutcher in this census, and the child list is not a perfect fit (particularly swapping the birth order of John and Nancy), I believe they are very likely to be the same William Croucher family who were in Jackson Co., Indiana in 1860.

Primary reasons are:
By comparison with the 1860 census, Crutcher is not the usual spelling of the name. (In 1860, there are no Crutcher families in Garrard Co., but 1 Crocher and 2 Croucher families.)
There is no other William and Mary Croucher (or variant spelling) family in Kentucky or Indiana in 1850
This is very likely to be the William Croucher who married Mary Durham in 1837 in Madison Co., and there was a Martha Durham living with the William Croucher family in 1860. (Garrard Co. and Madison Co. are neighbors)
The name fit for the children is fairly good, with Green being an uncommon name, and Indiana to Julia Ann being a reasonable name drift
No match for this family appears in Kentucky in 1860.

(Since Croucher is sometimes easily misread as things like Croncher, Cranchen, etc., I did wildcard searches on terms like “Cro*”, “Cra*”, etc., as well as given name only searches with age ranges.)

1860 census of Jackson Co., Indiana, Carr township, Woodville P.O., enumerated 12 July, lists on p. 105 as family #731/731:
William Croucher, 41; Mary, 42; Green, 21; Elizabeth, 18; Julia Ann, 16; John, 15; Nancy, 12; Susan, 10; David J., 7; Sarah J., 2; Martha Durham, 23. William through Susan, as well as Martha, born in Ky, David and Sarah in Indiana.

If I am correct in identifying the Garrard Co., Ky family with this family, then Elizabeth may be Green’s wife instead of a daughter of William and Mary. (The 1860 censuses do not show relationships or marital status.) I have not yet found Green in 1870 to check this hypothesis.

1870 census of Jackson Co., Indiana, Carr township, (undated), lists on p. 4 as family #26/28:
Croucher, Mary, 50, b. Ky; Susan, 18; b. Ind; James, 16, b. Ind; Jane, 12, b. Ind.
