Notes for Permelia “Millie” Sexton
The death certificate of her son Enoch has an explicit note “same name” in the maiden name of mother space, apparently meant to emphasize that she was born a Sexton rather than it being a case of entering her married surname because of an unknown maiden name.
Notes for James Enoch & Permelia “Millie” (Family)
Probably a brother or other near of Jonathan Sexton born ca 1796 of Wythe Co., Va and Carter Co., Ky.

This family is not likely to be closely related to my Sexton line, since they only arrived in Kentucky around 1839 or 1840 and, according to the death records of their sons William and Aaron, came from Russell Co., Va, while mine were already in Kentucky by 1810, and came from Grayson and Montgomery Co., Va. But since there were so many Sextons in the area, it will help me avoid mistakes to keep track of them all.
Census
1850 census of Carter Co., Ky, district 2, enumerated 10 Aug, lists as family #44:
James Sexton, 52, farmer; Milla, 52; James, 17; Aaron, 13; Enoch, 9, b. Ky. All others born in Va.

1860 census of Carter Co., Ky, Star Furnace P.O., enumerated 18 July, lists on p. 99 as family #722/644:
James Sexton, 62, farmer, b. Va; Amillia, 62, b. Va; Amillia A., 13, b. Ky.

The preceding household is headed by Jonathan Sexton age 33, and the one after it by Enoch, age 20.

Amillia age 13 is probably a granddaughter rather than a daughter, but I cannot find her in 1850 with any family.

1870 census of Carter Co., Ky, precinct 8, Grayson P.O., enumerated 23 Aug, lists on p. 7 as family #42/39:
Sexton, James, 75, farmer; Mildred, 70, blind; James, 36, farmer; Hulda, 50. All born in Virginia.
