Her death certificate records Nanie Setters, age 42, widowed, born Nov 1877 in Bath Co., Ky, died 4 Nov 1919 in Moorefield, Nicholas Co., Ky, widowed, father James Ishmael, mother’s maiden name Martha Barbee, both born in Ky, cause of death tuberculosis of the lungs, informant Floyd Setters, burial in Bethel, Ky.

I cannot find this family in the 1900 census.

1910 census of Nicholas Co., Ky, district 3, enumerated 23-25 April, lists on p. 6A as family #126/128:
Seters, Lee, 38, farmer; Annie, wife, 29, married 16 years, mother of 6 children, 6 living; Ines, dau, 14; Floyd W., son, 11; Leona, dau, 9; Eva, dau, 8; Mertie, dau, 6; Lucy, dau, 3. “Annie” born Ky W.S. Ky, all others born Ky Ky Ky.

There are several entries on this and surrounding pages where a birthplace has been entered as either W.S. or Wn. Possibly an abbreviation for Wisconsin? Or maybe “Won’t Say” or “Woudn’t state”?

Identification of the wife in this household as being Nannie Ishmael is based on the death certificate for their daughter Leona, which gives her parents as Lee Setters and Nannie Ishmael, as well as the death certificate of Nannie herself, for which Floyd Setters is the informant.

1920 census of Nicholas Co., Ky, Buzzard Roost precinct, enumerated 17 Jan, lists on p. 2B as family #41:
Setters, Floyd, 21, farmer; Eva, sister, 17; Myrtle, sister, 14; Lucy, sister, 12; Estie, brother, 9; Howard, brother, 7; Scott, brother, 2 5/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
