He was listed in 1850 with his mother and grandmother as James Ratliff age 6, with his uncle John Ratliff in 1860 as James Harvey age 15, and in 1870 with his first wife Elizabeth as James Ratliff age 24.

I have not found him in 1880, as either James or Harvey.

Morgan Co. marriage records list the marriage on 5 Jan 1881 of James H. Ratliff and Diama Brown, at Coleman Brown’s by Isaac Lykins, witnesses James H. Lewis and John R. Ratliff.

The 1900 census of Morgan Co., Ky lists with Damy and her second husband John Cassity:
