Notes for Thomas Fraley
His death certificate records Thomas Fraley, age 65 years 3 months, born 10 Dec 1865 in Elliott Co., Ky, died 24 March 1930 in Morgan Co., Ky, farmer, married, husband of Anna McGuire, father Philipp Fraley, mother’s maiden name Katie Stigall, both born in Ky, cause of death paralysis, informant Anna Fraley, Paragon, Ky, burial in Fraley Cemetery.

Since he was listed as 6 in the 1870 census and 18 in 1880, he was probably really born earlier than 1865, most likely 1862 or 1863. (I cannot find him in the 1900 census.)
Notes for Anna McGuire
There were two Anna McGuires in the 1900 census of Morgan Co., Ky: Anna L. McGuire age 17, born July 1882, daughter of Rowland B. McGuire and Rebecca F. McGuire, and Anna McGuire age 8, born Dec 1891, daughter of Thomas McGuire and Parthena McGuire. (Those are the wives’ maiden names - they were both cousin marriages.)

Since the Anna McGuire who married Thomas Fraley was recorded in the 1920 census as age 35 (implying a birthdate around 1884), and in the 1930 census as age 29 (implying a birthdate around 1901), her birthdate is very uncertain. If it weren’t for the marriage record, and her maiden name on the birth records of their children, I likely would have assumed that the 1920 and 1930 censuses were for two different wives.

The Anna McGuire who was the daughter of Rowland and Rebecca would seem to be too old to be having children born in the late 1930’s. (She would have been about 56 when Ernest Quicksall was born.)

However, the Anna McGuire who was the daughter of Thomas and Parthena married William Sebastain about 1907, and Boone Vance about 1915. She was still married to Boone when he died in 1942.

So perhaps there was a third Anna McGuire not yet located in earlier censuses.

Note the large discrepancy between Ann’s age in 1920 and her age in this one. It is the same person, though, based on the birth records.

The next household is that of Sam Fichter and his wife Laura Fraley, with Troy Fraley age 21 residing as a brother-in-law.
