Her obituary ran in the Greencastle Banner of 8 Dec 2003:

Margery Fern Ferrand Zaring, 89, Mt. Meridian, died Thursday evening at Hickory Creek at Sunset, Greencastle.

Born Feb. 20, 1913 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Roy Franklin Ferrand and Florence (Masten) Ferrand.

A 1929 Bainbridge High School graduate, she married Robert Vernon Zaring on Feb. 20, 1930. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1973.

A homemaker, she co-owned and operated Zaring's Processing Plant at Mt. Meridian with her husband, son and daughter-in-law for many years before retiring in 1966.

She was a member of the former Mt. Meridian Methodist Church and had been an active supporter of 4-H in Putnam County, participating in many 4-H activities and winning several awards in Open Class Flowers at the Putnam County Fair.

Survivors include a son, Max Zaring and wife Bonnie, Fillmore; a daughter, Wilma Chadd and husband Hubert, Fillmore; a sister, Edna French, Tewksbury, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Marion Ferrand, Greencastle; a brother-in-law, Arthur Zaring, Greencastle; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Eubank Huff; a son-in-law, Aubrey Eubank; a brother, Marion Ferrand; a sister, Leona Tuttle; a brother-in-law, Maynard Tuttle; and two infant brothers.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is set for 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
