Her obituary ran in the Greencastle Banner-Graphic on Tues, June 23, 2009:

Mary Ellen Glidewell, 94, of New Haven, formerly of Greencastle, died on Saturday, June 20, 2009.

She was born on June 21, 1914 in Greencastle to Luther Ernest and Mossie Minnetta Brown Trout. She was a graduate of Greencastle High School and Indiana Business College.

Mrs. Glidewell had served as the legal secretary at the Murphy Law Practice in Greencastle, she worked with The National Tuberculosis Association for 18 years, and had been a court stenographer.

She was a long time member of First Christian Church and had been affiliated with the Putnam County Home Extension, AARP and DAR.

Surviving are her children, Barbara Joanne Leonard and husband Robert of Kentland, Bette Lou Feagans and husband Joseph of Ottawa, Ill. and Edward Lee Glidewell and wife Sandy of New Haven; a brother, Chester Adams Trout and wife Mary Jane of Grand Ledge, Mich.; a sister, Christine Collins of Greencastle; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her parents; husband, Marion Theodore Glidewell; two brothers, Linza Trout and Elwood Trout; and a daughter and son-law, Marilyn Sue Talley and husband, Richard preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, 110 South Indiana Street, Greencastle, with the Rev. Paul H. Champion officiating. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery.
