Notes for Edward L. & Thorntie (Family)
Rowan Co., Ky, marriage book 3, p. 314, records the marriage on 29 July 1899 of Edward L. Teal, age 29, residence Farmers, occupation mill man, first marriage, born in and both parents born in Bath Co., to Thorntie Chidister, age 36, residence Farmers, born in Mercer Co., her second marriage, at Farmers by H. F. Martin, witnesses Wm Carpenter and Tom Scoth, bond surety by Samuel Lipsitz.

This marriage apparently did not last long and may have ended in an early divorce, because in the 1900 census Edward was living with his parents, listed as married, but with no wife in the household, and in the 1910 census, he was married to Bessie Fowler and reported that marriage as his first.
