Notes for Telitha B. Sexton
Telitha was listed as a step-granddaughter of James Boggs (b. ca 1810) and Frances “Fannie” Knipp on the 1880 census, but I do not know for sure which of Fannie’s children she is a daughter of. George seems the most likely, by the following logic:

It would have to be one of the children of Fannie’s first husband William R. Sexton, since Telitha is too young to be a child of any of Fannie’s children by her second husband James Oliver Sexton.

It is very unlikely to be Fannie’s oldest daughter Sarah, who was still living in Boyd Co. in 1880 with her husband Hiram Sexton, and they had no daughter who would fit in the 1870 census. Fannie’s 3 youngest children by William - James, Permelia and Betty - were all living with her and James Oliver Sexton in 1870. If Telitha was a child of any of these three, she would probably have been living with them in 1870. That leaves only George, whom I cannot find in the 1870 census. Nor can I find Telitha herself.

It is possible, however, that her reported age in the 1880 and 1900 censuses is off by a year, and that she was really born in late 1870. If that is the case, then she could still be a daughter of one of the younger three children of William and Fanny, born after the 1870 census was taken.
