His obituary in the Morehead News reported “Zenith Fraley, age 85, of Poplar Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Born April 8, 1921, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jake and Myrtle Plank Fraley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Shirley Todd Fraley on May 12, 1995 and Hazel Fraley on February 1, 2005; one brother, John Fraley, and three sisters, Cressie Lawson, Rena Hamilton, and Maymie Spence.

Zenith is survived by four children—Rochella Rivers of San Antonio, Texas; Don Fraley of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; Darlene Adkins and husband Larry of Morehead, Kentucky; Joe Fraley and wife Sharon of Morehead, Kentucky; his first wife, Nellie Conley; three brothers—Roy Fraley, Joe Fraley, and David Fraley, all of Morehead, Kentucky; four stepchildren—Jeff Wood and wif Melissa of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; Cindy Planck and husband Jim of Middletown, Ohio; Barbara Wood of Morehead, Kentucky; and John Wood of Middletown, Ohio; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Zenith was a former coal miner in Slab Fork, West Virginia, a twenty-year employee of General Refractories Brickyard in Olive Hill, and a former employee of Aronica and Sears, both in Middletown, Ohio. He was also a farmer and horse trainer. Zenith attended Grace Assembly of God.

Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill McCoy officiating; burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Chris Adkins, Mike Fraley, Dewayne McCleese, Todd Plank, Kennion Rivers, and Tim Rivers. Visitation was after 5 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.”
